One Ingredient Ice Cream

This recipe, or more of an instructional really, comes from the site The Kitchn.  It's the simplest recipe ever, and in fact I was skeptical when I initially ran across it.  The ingredient is a banana!  The trick is that upon freezing the banana in slices, and then running it through a food processor you come out with a sweet custardy treat.  The site goes on to offer a few additional items to make it your own.  I may try adding coca/coco powder, as the bananas are sweet enough to not need any additional sugar.  They recommend adding peanut butter.  I will definitely be trying both in the future.  This "ice cream" is the healthiest dessert ever! Vegans are some of the most creative food-smiths around.  Read on for the full... instructional. [...]

Ingredients:
2 bananas

Instructions:
Slice both bananas into small spheres.  The size likely doesn't matter.  Mine were about 1/2" wide.  Place the slices on a metal or glass pie tin sized container in the freezer, covered.  Leave in the freezer for 1-2 hours, or longer.  Mine were in for 7 hours while I was at work.  Remove and promptly blend in a food processor, making sure to scrape the edges down each time.  Continue scraping and blending until smooth and free of small chunks. Eat immediately.  Mine seemed to remain ice cream like for about 15 or so minutes.  Once it melts it will turn into a mushy banana paste, but it should be long devoured before then!  This is such a remarkable creation.  Everyone must try this.

I only used one banana when trying this recipe.
