Green Smoothies

I have been eating green smoothies for lunch over the last five days.  While not always the most enticing, they do a really good job with weight loss!  I figured I should give the reader a bit of information about what I'v been making.  If you aren't familiar with green smoothies they are amazingly healthy beverages that allow the consumer to eat more "greens" than ever before possible, short of eating a giant plate of spinach or kale, and it tastes pretty good.  Some have better results taste wise than others, but regardless, you will always taste fruit over greens every time, allowing the average person to eat a large amount of kale, for example, with ease!  Bellow are the ingredients I use in my smoothies.

Ingredients:
1/2 a large apple
1 large banana
5 frozen strawberries
1/3 lbs. silken tofu
raw almonds, small handful
ground golden flax seed, a few pinches
spinach or kale, should fill half of the blender

For this all to work, you really need a powerful blender.  The one I have does a decent job.  In the end you will have a nice creamy smoothie.  I don't typically use tofu, but it does add a good bit of protein and makes it more of a smoothie consistency.  Also, the almonds help keep the hunger levels lower as the hours progress.
