I have been eating green smoothies for lunch over the last five days. While not always the most enticing, they do a really good job with weight loss! I figured I should give the reader a bit of information about what I'v been making. If you aren't familiar with green smoothies they are amazingly healthy beverages that allow the consumer to eat more "greens" than ever before possible, short of eating a giant plate of spinach or kale, and it tastes pretty good. Some have better results taste wise than others, but regardless, you will always taste fruit over greens every time, allowing the average person to eat a large amount of kale, for example, with ease! Bellow are the ingredients I use in my smoothies.
Yes, that's right I am cooking again. Lately it has been tried and true recipes of yore. Italian pasta and asian food. In this case, awesome friend rice with tofu! Soon I will have a new recipe to post. My Pinterest board has been filling up, letting me know it's about freaking time I made something new. Until then fellow enthusiasts!
If you haven't noticed, there have not been any new posts for quite a while. The reason was that my kitchen was in the middle of a remodel. It has been about two weeks since I have been able to cook anything at home. All of the available counter space had been removed, and even the stove was unusable for about a week. It was maddening to say the least. After eating terribly greasy cheese ridden foods for the last two weeks I am extremely glad to get back to a vegan diet. Where I live eating vegan without cooking it yourself is limited to maybe two restaurants. One being my regular favorite, Drunken Noodle, and the other being a more expensive restaurant owned by the same owners. In the end, my options were exceedingly limited, even on a vegetarian diet.
Soon, I hope to have some new recipes! Give me a fews days to get everything straightened out, and I will be good to go.
For the last 4 or 5 days my kitchen has been ripped apart waiting for next weeks remodel. This means that my available counter space is virtually non-existant, and most of my cookware is in boxes throughout the house. This makes for a difficult time making recipes. In other words, it will still likely be another week before I have a new recipe posting... though one can dream. At any rate, here is one example of a quick tasty lunch or dinner amongst the chaos - pan fried tofu on garlic bread. If I have more time, some steamed veggies are a great addition, or some fruit rounds out this quick meal. I have had a tofu craving lately, eating it for the last few days. So delicious! It reminds me of eggs on toast. Read on for the rest. [...]
